Digital Downloads

  • How do I access my digital downloads?
    Once your order is complete, you’ll receive an email with a link to download your files. You can also find them in your account if you created one at checkout. Please be sure to save the files securely to your device.
  • How many times can I download my digital files?
    Each purchase allows up to 10 downloads. After that, the link will expire. We recommend saving the files to your computer or a cloud storage service so you’ll always have them to hand.
  • Can I download patterns on my phone or tablet, or do I need a computer?
    Yes, most devices can download PDF files. However, for the smoothest experience (especially if you plan to print your pattern), we recommend downloading on a laptop or desktop computer.
  • What should I do if my download link has expired?
    Your download link shouldn’t expire, but if you’ve lost it please get in touch and we’ll be happy to resend it. Please note that we are unable to reset download limits, so we strongly recommend saving your files securely to your device or cloud storage after purchase.
  • I’ve downloaded my file, but I can’t find it. Where is it?
    When you download a file, it usually saves automatically into your device’s “Downloads” folder. If you’re using a phone or tablet, it can sometimes be trickier to locate. We recommend using a laptop or desktop computer where it’s often easier to find, save, and back up your files securely.

Shipping & Customs

  • Do you ship internationally?
    Yes, we ship internationally, but not all physical items are available for every destination. At the moment, we do not ship physical products to the EU. All international orders are sent using tracked and signed-for services for secure delivery.
  • Will I have to pay customs charges or duties on my order?
    If you are ordering from another country outside the UK, your parcel may be subject to customs duties and tariffs. These are the responsibility of the customer. We strongly recommend checking local regulations before ordering.
  • I’m in the USA. what can I expect from customs tariffs on physical products?
    If you’re ordering physical items to the USA, your parcel is likely to be subject to customs duties, tariffs, or local taxes. These charges are set by US customs and are the responsibility of the customer. Unfortunately, we can’t predict or control the cost, so we recommend checking with your local customs office to understand what may apply before placing an order.

Patterns & Sewing Information

  • What is the seam allowance on your patterns?
    All of our sewing patterns use a 4mm seam allowance unless otherwise stated.
  • What does a 4mm seam allowance equal in inches?
    4mm is just under ⅛ inch (approximately 5/32"). For ease, you can think of it as a narrow seam allowance.
  • Are your patterns suitable for beginners?
    Yes! Many of our designs are beginner-friendly, with step-by-step instructions and photo guides to help you. Some are a little more advanced, but we’ll always let you know the skill level required.
  • Do your patterns include step-by-step instructions and photos?
    Yes, each pattern includes clear, detailed instructions with photographs at the trickier stages to help you along.
  • Can I sell items made from your patterns?
    Yes, small-scale selling is permitted. Please see the copyright information included in each pattern for full details.
  • Can I use your patterns to teach workshops or sewing lessons?
    No. Using our patterns for workshops, sewing lessons, or any form of teaching goes against our copyright and is not permitted. Doing so may result in legal action.

Kits & Materials

  • What is included in a kit?
    Our kits vary depending on the design, but they typically include the pattern, interfacing, and any special components you’ll need (such as eyes or joints). Full details are listed on each kit product page.
  • Do I need to buy anything extra to complete a kit or pattern?
    Most kits contain everything essential, but you may need to add basics such as sentimental fabrics, stuffing (if using a mini kit), thread, or a sewing needle. For digital patterns, you’ll need to source all materials yourself.

Orders & Payments

  • Why do prices look different in my currency?
    All prices are listed in GBP (£). If you’re shopping from outside the UK, your bank will automatically convert the payment into your local currency.
  • What exchange rate will my bank use when I purchase?
    Exchange rates vary depending on your bank or payment provider. Please check with them directly if you’d like to know the exact rate or fees before ordering.
  • Can I get a refund on digital downloads?
    Due to the nature of digital files, refunds cannot be offered once a pattern has been downloaded.
  • Which payment methods do you accept?
    We accept all major debit and credit cards, as well as PayPal.

  • How do I contact you if I have a question?
    You can reach us via the contact form on our website, or by emailing info@theheirloompatternco.com . We aim to reply within 2 business days.
  • Do you offer gift cards?
    At the moment we do not offer gift cards, but it’s something we’re considering for the future.
