Neville’s Bear Sewing Pattern – A Little Bear with a Big Legacy (Printed Pattern)

Introducing the Neville’s Bear Sewing Pattern
We are honoured to share the Neville’s Bear Sewing Pattern, a truly special heirloom bear inspired by one incredibly brave little boy. Designed to reflect the tiny size of baby Neville, this delicate, fully jointed bear stands just 17 cm tall from tabletop to ear tip. Though small in stature, Neville’s Bear carries immense heart and purpose, both as a beautiful keepsake and as a tribute to Neville’s memory.

This printed version arrives ready to use, professionally presented on high-quality A4 paper and posted directly to your door, no need for printing at home. It’s ideal for those who prefer a physical copy to work from, or for gifting to a fellow maker.

This pattern is perfect for sewers looking to gently stretch their skills. It features traditional cotter pin and disc joints for movable limbs and head. While it does involve an element of hand sewing, every stitch is worth the effort. If you've never made a jointed bear before, Neville’s Bear is a thoughtful and rewarding place to begin.

What Makes Neville’s Bear Unique?

  • Delicately Jointed Design: With fully jointed limbs and head, Neville’s Bear has a classic teddy bear finish using traditional cotter pin and disc joints.

  • Tiny Size, Big Impact: Just 17 cm tall, this little bear reflects the precious little boy who inspired him. A perfect way to showcase treasured fabrics and fine details.

  • Made with Love and Purpose: Neville’s Bear was originally created as a gift for Neville, to celebrate his strength and document his journey. While he was still with us, we planned to share the pattern to raise funds in gratitude to the NICU caring for him. Now, with his parents’ blessing, this bear takes on a new role: to honour Neville’s memory and help create a lasting legacy.

  • A Worthwhile Challenge: Slightly more advanced than beginner patterns, Neville’s Bear invites you to step outside your comfort zone and experience the joy of making a truly heirloom-quality bear.

What’s Included in the Printed Pattern?

  • Full-sized, printed pattern pieces on high-quality A4 paper.

  • A professionally printed instructions featuring clear step-by-step guidance, photographs, and diagrams for jointing and hand-sewn features.

  • Expert tips for working with sentimental or delicate fabrics.

  • A full materials list and recommendations to help you achieve a polished finish.

Supporting a Cause Close to Our Hearts
40% of every sale of Neville’s Bear Pattern is donated directly to the Rosie NICU at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, the extraordinary team who cared for Neville during his 40 days with us. Though his time was short, Neville was surrounded by love and showed more courage than most of us will ever know. Every bear made and every donation raised helps support other babies and families walking a similar path.

Why 40%? Because Neville gave us 40 unforgettable days. 40 days filled with love, bravery, and hope. This bear is our way of helping that love live on.
